This is Miguel. I met him last Thursday at the Soup Kitchen in Bed-Stuy.
Miguel is originally from Peru. He has a wife and 3 children who live in Peru. Unfortunately Miguel lost his job, and lost all the money he had. Now he is stuck in Brooklyn trying to find a way to make some money.
After talking to him for an hour I realized how cool this guy was. If anyone has worked there ass off, it's this guy. He built the houses his wife and children live in. He supports them all. In NY he is a jack of all trades. He works in construction, collects and recycles glass, Works as a handy man, and even sometimes does delivery for a local pizzeria. Sometimes if its a slow week he has no choice but to stop by the soup kitchen to pick up some free grub. He admits he doesn't love eating there, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
Miguel said; " La comida no esta mal... Y son buena gente."
Which means the foods not to bad and the staff is nice.
When you see how some people live life, you begin to really appreciate your own.
Good Luck Miguel!
